Snow Adventures in Washington!

Hello Friends and Family,
This last week has been one for the books. Starting with sunday the 16th we had light snow fall. Which brought a small panic to our little family because we don't exactly have a snow friendly car. Well, lucky for us the snow melted and was gone for two days long enough for our Buff Family to visit.

We had Great grandma pera beth, grandma Sue and Aunt Leah all in town to meet or visit little baby boy again. The snow fell making this visit a home bound adventure. With some exceptions because Grandma sue rented a car that drove and was better for the snow driving...we were able to got to the store twice and the movies once.

The best though was watching the women gathered round the table enjoying such a small little baby's every coo and smile. The Best responces from our baby were toward Great Grandma Pera Beth...she really got him a smiling and giggling. Aunt Leah got the little guy to sleep-man she has the touch and Grandma sue got the fun faces our little one creates...We think he'll be a charmer because of these smiles...

Such a wonderful time especially when we learned how to play bridge. I was useless but it brought a lot of laughter and spark to the day. All in all it was a wonderful trip. Needless to say when monday came and it went back to just mommy and baby all day our little one really has had a hard time readjusting back...which meant no sleep for mama...The life of a mama! LOL

till next time,
Tina

BABY has arrived!

Hello Old friends,

Late thanksgiving of 2011 my doctor had rob and I come and be induced for Labor. Bags packed and a fun relaxing day of fun at the Shumaker home. Thanks Bekah-ray. WE headed into town to the hospital. When we got there I received a zillion bracelets for allergies, my name, and all that fun stuff. The nurse set an IV for future medications they'd need to set in for my preaclampsia.

We induction started! Well, this started a 7 day stay in the hospital. My little man and my body just weren't ready to have a baby. It took 4 days of active labor before it was time to have a c-section. After many pelvic exams, needle pokes, blood being drawn, medications to help my heart, monitors for baby tracking, and nice nurses coming in all hours of the night.

After no food and having an empty stomach my body was ready to deliver but the baby was coming down wrong-thought the exit was my hip. Lots of pain but we made it through...
On Sunday round 6:30pm Lucas James Buff was born weighing 6lbs 14oz. and measuring 19.5 inches. Long and looking super cute. He cried instantly and had a dimple smile. We fell in love instantly with our little man. So, did my little sister who barely let anyone hold him. Should of seen my mom and sister. They were super cute and made me laugh which at times didn't always work with my belly stitches from the c-section. But made the 7 day stay easier. I don't think I would of survived i got bad cabin fever and rob/me were super sleep de-prived...But we survived!

Only to stay awake with our little man who loves the middle of the night...Mama had to learn to sleep when the baby did. Hard to learn...but it has come into play a little.

Our adventure at home was interesting as well... I learned to work on little to no sleep and heal at the same time. Daddy learned to work on less sleep and to hold the little man. We are slowly learning to work as a team and a family. Our baby is growing and becoming a super cute little guy.

Hope this update helps!
